Journey's End 2009

Crab Crackin' at Deltaville Marina
Jackson Creek, Deltaville: 2009

Deltaville.  We planned to leave WJ3 for the winter in Deltaville, and as it can get cold this far north, we spent about two weeks before departure cleaning and winterising her.  As winterising was a new concept for us (lucky Aussies aren’t we) we had the engine properly serviced whilst I observed and took lots of notes, and then did the rest ourselves.  The staff at the Deltaville Boatyard were more than helpful.  I connected a small solar panel to the batteries while the boat was laid up. All this prep work took us a good 10 days, most of the time living on the boat on the hard.  Although this had its down side, we did get to meet a few fellow travellers in the Marina Lounge. Having covered a distance from Trinidad to Deltaville, some 2789nm, we flew home end of September 2009 more than pleased with our efforts.
Thar She Blow's!  Hauling out is always an unnerving experience...
